The Witcher Season 3 full review (Vol. 1 & 2)

the witcher season 3

After 1 month of break, Netflix’s fantasy drama series The Witcher is back with its monster-slashing volume 2. But this time the season feels a little dimmish.

Many controversies are ramping up with the show that it is not following the sourcebook material. Along with that, the shocking news is Henry Cavill is leaving the show and he will not appear in season 4 which makes some fans disappointed. Instead, Liam Hemsworth would be stepping in as the Butcher of Blaviken

So, Season Three starts where Season 2 ended, and it covers Ciri’s journey from Geralt’s perspective. Where Yennefer and Geralt train Ciri to prepare herself for future threats. In between there are some politics and people that are after Ciri’s powers, will they succeed in their mission or not? You will know it after watching The Witcher Season 3.

So, in this article, we will know if The Witcher Season 3 will be a good or bad choice to binge-watch it.

My thoughts on The Witcher Season 3

Although this season is very dimmish and obscure. The success of the show can be attributed to the exceptional performances of its cast, impressive visual effects, and high production value.

The acting of Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra, and Freya Allan is impressive, just like in the previous two seasons. They all deliver strong performances, and the supporting cast is also outstanding. The execution of the action sequences is exceptional, while the actors deliver powerful performances in the emotional scenes.

While visual effects can be stunning, there are occasions when they may seem slightly out of sync. The Production value also plays a great role in making the series entertaining if we don’t focus on the concoction.

The overall series is good. But just like the 5th and 6th episodes were fast paced but unfortunately, it didn’t maintain the pace in the latter two episodes.

Especially the episode 7 is very slow and monotonous. The creators are mainly devoted to showing the character arc of Ciri in that episode. As the whole episode is based on a desert so you can’t notice many things and will get bored eventually.

And they didn’t give a proper closure to Henry Cavill as it’s his last season as Geralt. There was various concoction in the series which made the plot and story very baffling.

The are many missed fight sequences that can be improved a bit.

The current season has faced significant criticism, which is understandable due to certain aspects feeling dull and the writing appearing awkward and Unnatural. There may be some die-hard fans of the Witcher books and games who are disappointed by the so-called “creative choices” made by the writers. Unfortunately, the latest season featuring Henry Cavill has been deemed the worst in The Witcher series.

But for the overall normal audience, it’s a good, and solid entry in the Witcher series Especially the 5th & 6th episodes are really good. It is not perfect but if you are a fan of the white wolf then you can watch it.

If you have watched Season 3 then comment down your thoughts below.
